12 Days of Christmas Bible Journaling – The Christmas Story Day 6

Hello Everyone,

Half way!!!! I have made it to Day 6!  I think I can actually do this – woohoo!!

So what does God have for me today?  Well I am in Luke 2:21-39 ESV.

Here we see Joseph and Mary taking baby Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to offer a sacrifice before God for him.  This was their custom.  Simeon, a just and devout man, was there.  It had been revealed to him, at an earlier time, through the Holy Ghost, that he would not die until he had seen the baby Jesus.  When he saw Joseph, Mary and the baby he knew immediately that it was Jesus!!!

Simeon takes the baby Jesus and blesses God for fulfilling His promise to him, and he gives a blessing to Joseph and Mary too.  He says to Mary: “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that the thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.

Simeon was saying that Jesus would reveal the thoughts of hearts.  He knows our heart and would reveal to us what is in our hearts – good or bad.  Is our heart for Him or against Him.  That is the ultimate question. The question that defines our eternity and He is the only one that can truly reveal our heart.

So what is in my heart?  Is my heart perfect – NO!  Does it have to be perfect – No!  Do I have a love for God in my heart – YES!  That is what Jesus reveals.  Do we love and accept or Him or do we reject Him.  This is what determines our eternity!  My prayer today will be that I will be better at sharing my heart with others so that they can too come to know God in their hearts!  I hope I have shared my love of God with you today!

I use many different types of crafts in my journaling and today I used stickers!  I love the colors and prints on these heart stickers and they are perfect for showing that there are different types of hearts!  I have a huge selection of different stickers that I keep just to use in my journaling – an easy way to create fun journal pages.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post!  Let me know your thoughts on these passages!  If you would like to continue to follow me just sign up below.  You will also receive access to my free Resource Library!

Be Blessed, Mary Ann
