I did some bible journaling with my devotions this morning and I wanted to share it with you! I was studying in Acts 16:6-10 NIV. This is just 5 verses about Paul and his entourage wandering around trying to find someone to witness to. It says in verse 6 that they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. They tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. They ended up in Macedonia after Paul has a vision about witnessing there, concluding that God had called them there.
God’s Perfect Plan for Us!
Don’t you love knowing that God has a plan for us and that He has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us through that plan. What a comfort to know that if we listen to the Holy Spirit we will know where God wants us to go and even more importantly where He doesn’t want us to go!
Bible Journaling With Stampin’ Up!
I immediately thought of the Sailing Home stamp set from the new 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. This stamp set is so versatile and I thought it would be perfect for this passage. I used Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, and Whisper White ink and an sponge dauber for the background and Pacific Point for the stamping.
Whenever you are using stamps and ink in your bible journaling you must first use Clear Gesso to prepare the page. If you don’t you will get bleed through! If you want to see a tutorial on how to apply Gesso to your bible page sign up to receive access to my free Resource Library below!
I started with the Bermuda Bay ink and lightly sponged the area to be stamped.
Next I stamped the image and messed it up – ugh!!! So, I pulled out my Whisper White Ink and sponge dauber and covered up the messed up stamping. I love that mistakes can be fixed – with stamping and against God!!
I carefully re-stamped the images and added my thoughts underneath. “Let The Holy Spirit Guide” that is my take away from this passage!
I love how God spoke to me through this passage – reminding me that I have the Holy Spirit to guide me on my journey and I love how this bible jounaling page turned out!
