My Bible Journaling – 2 Samuel 6 & 7 NIV

Hello Everyone,

I haven’t posted any of my bible journaling since “The 12 Days of Christmas” series so I though I would show you what I have been working on and how God has spoke to me through these chapters!

The last few days I have been studying in 2 Samuel 6 & 7 NIV. In chapter 6 David is trying to bring the ark to Jerusalem. It has been in the house of Abinadab since the Philistines captured and returned it. David’s first attempt at moving it failed miserably because he did not follow God’s instructions for moving the ark.

David learned from his mistake and tried again – I love that about David – he learns from his mistakes!! HIs second attempt was successful and it says in 6:14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; ….., while the ark was being moved.

With “all of his might” David worshipped God – do I do that? I don’t think so. Some changes definitely need to be made in my life, and I need to worship “with all my might”!

Next, in chapter 7, we see that David wants to build a house for the ark. He is living in a palace and feels bad that God is living in a tent! But God intervenes and tells him no. He goes on the tell David that He is going to bless him and his house forever! How awesome it that!

In verse 18 we see how David responded: “Then King David went in and sat before the LORD; and he said, “Who am I, O LORD GOD?…” David ends his praise of Thanksgiving in verse 29 with, “Now therefore, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for You, O Lord GOD, have spoken it, and with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”

See how King David responds to God's blessings with praise and humility! #kingdavidpraise, #whoami, #godsblessings, #blessedforever

David starts off by saying “Who Am I”, and ends with “Your servant, …. blessed forever.” That is the way that I want to look at my life: Who Am I before God? Someone that He has decided to “bless forever”. Not because of anything that I did other than I became HIs servant! I just had to accept Him as my LORD and SAVIOR and He blesses me forever! WOW – THAT’S POWERFUL!

I love these chapters in 2 Samuel – can’t wait to see what God had in store for me next! I hope your find everything He has for you in HIs word!

Be Blessed, Mary Ann
