Stampin’ Up!, 4H, and Mentoring!

Stampin’ Up! & 4H Mentoring!

I had the privilege of helping an awesome young lady with her 4H project and showing a 4H group how to make simple Thank You cards to send to their sponsors this past week.  I love sharing Stampin’ Up! products and techniques with crafters and especially young people.  4H is a wonderful organization and I really enjoy working with the members and teaching them techniques and tricks that help in putting their projects together!

4H Scrapbooking and Stampin’ Up!

Scrapbooking and Stampin’ Up! are made for each other.  I showed Harleigh, who is in her first year of Scrapbooking, how to use our Re-inkers to make watercolored backgrounds, how to heat emboss, creating a pop-up, and a simple technique for making pockets for her scrapbook.   We worked on several different backgrounds that she could take home and finish with her own personal pictures and embellishments.  One of the techniques that she needed to learn was how to make a shaker element and I showed her how to die cut frames for her shaker from the “Stitched Rectangles” dies.

We went through how to put together this simple shaker card with the retired Amazing Life Stamp set from Stampin’ Up! and I sent her home with a kit for creating her own shaker elements in her scrapbook!

You can find the tutorial for this card in my free Resource Library below!

Saying Thank You with Stampin’ Up!

Members learn many, many things when they participate in 4H, including: teamwork, leadership skills, time management, respect and care of animals, good work ethics, and saying “Thank You” to those who help, to name just a few.  I also had the privilege of attending a 4H meeting and holding a class to help the members create some simple Thank You cards for their sponsors.  We created several different cards similar to the one below. (Oh no – I forgot to take pictures!)

The kids loved making their cards and were very creative!  I know that whoever receives those handmade cards will really appreciate the time and effort that was put into making them!

Creating with Stampin’ Up!
