All About Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paint

I love the new Stampin’ Up! shimmer paint!  I guess it’s not really new – evidently they had it several years ago before I became a demonstrator.  I am thrilled they brought it back!!   This shimmer paint is so easy to work with and there are so many different things you can do with it.  I have listed 5 ways to use it below!

There are 4 different colors to choose from: Bright Copper, Champagne Mist, Frost White, and Vegas Gold (my favorite). Each comes in a 1/2 fl. oz. bottle, acid free and nontoxic.  Not only is the Frost White great for snow effects, you can also add our Stampin’ Up! ink to the Frost White and make any color you need.  How great is that!  These paints are featured on page 38 our Holiday Catalog.

Stampin’ Up Shimmer Paint is an easy way to add subtle shimmer or brilliant shine to any project!  Check out my free list of “5 Tips on How to Use Stampin’ Up Shimmer Paint“, in my BlessingsDesigned Library.  I love adding subtle highlights to stamp images – just like the gold and copper detail in this pheasant stamp stamped with the Pleasant Pheasants Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!.

Stamping with Stampin’ Up Shimmer Paint is a great way to give a little extra flair to your projects too!  I wanted a vintage, aged look for this fall card and stamping the sentiment with the Vegas Gold was exactly what I was looking for!  It really gave the whole card that distressed, mixed media look that I was going for!

When using your Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paint to stamp with you want to sponge it sparingly onto your stamp.  I like to quickly add several layers of paint onto the stamp and let it dry for just a few seconds before stamping.  I always use a sponge to add the paint to the stamp.  I tried using a paint brush and it did not go well at all – too much paint in the indentations of the stamp made for a very sloppy stamped image.

You can also use Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paint on fabric such as the cute Santa’s Bags on page 18/19 of the new Holiday Catalog!    What a great and  easy way to package small gifts and treats for Christmas!  I love products that help me easily create beautiful, useful projects.  Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paints do just that!
